Native Wattles

Few native plants announce the change of season quite like a wattle in full bloom. Bursting into vivid gold flowers through late winter and early spring, wattles provide one of the earliest nectar sources of the year for bees and other pollinators, at a time when little else is flowering.

Fast-growing and hardy, wattles are excellent for quick screening, windbreaks, and re-establishing structure in new or restored gardens. Species range from low, spreading shrubs to small trees, giving plenty of options depending on the space and role you need them to fill.

All our wattles are grown from local provenance seed, so they're best suited to the soils and climate of the Casey and Cardinia region.

Wattles are good for: early-season colour and nectar, fast screening and windbreaks, revegetation and quick-establishing plantings.
